A week of highs and lows

This week started on quite a positive note, on Tuesday I had a big meeting scheduled at work, which went onto around 8.30pm, then we went out for food and I stayed in Torquay got put up in hotel, which wasn't too bad. The meeting was quite successful with support from people within the company who have a bit of clout with the MD, so things have moved on in my favour.
The feeling sadly could not last, and last night around 9.00pm I had a phone call my step-dad was rushed into hospital he had been sick and there was a severe amount of blood loss with it, he was shaking uncontrollably, very pale I thought he was done for.
We spent a worrying evening at the A&E dept of the local hospital, until around 12.30am they advised that they were trying to find a bed and going to keep him in. My husband and I left then, my mother and sister were still there ( I had to be up for work at 6.30am) They finally got him a bed at around 3.45am.
He seems a lot better today, more colour in his face he has had an endoscopy today, they have taken biopsies and we are waiting the results.
Today has been the usual juggle of work, but with lunch with my mother, a visit to the hospital after work, then picking up husband with the shopping, now kids have rang and they have problems with a car, so husband has rushed off again. My stepbrother, wife and kids are also here for a holiday, came yesterday and rang to see if we were going out tonight, unfortunately I am not as young as I used to be. I declined, am off to bed.
Never a dull moment in our house, I am really begging for one now. Please all leave me alone, I don't want to play anymore.
