Away again!!

Hardly been two weeks since I've been back, and am off on my travels again.
This time we are off to Spain, though this is pure holiday and relaxation. My brother has a villa in Spain, which he has kindly invited us over, only for five days, but will make a nice break.
Fly out early tomorrow by lunchtime should be enjoying the sangria by the pool.....

Back

Hi Guys and girls,
For all of those avid readers, I am back from the back of beyond, oh and Bulgaria.
I had the best time ever. My man and I bought a 21Ft caravan and towed this along with some of our possessions on the roof rack through seven countries to our destination. This took around 4 days, sleeping the caravan on the way.
The only problem we had going over was in Slovenia, when we fueled up. The fuel had an excessive amount of water in it, which meant several stops to try and sort out the problem, which new man being as fab as he is, did. We ate up the countries, France, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, then finally into Bulgaria.
We got to our unlivable property then tried to get the caravan in on the property which was impossible, so we had to leave it and sleep on the road outside. Until we had taken down the chicken coop, fence etc.
The next five or six weeks were working 24/7. It took us three days to get the water and electric turned on. From then on, we organise roofers and got the property re roofed, electrician for the whole property to be rewired. This included sourcing materials, which was all good fun considering we could not speak the language.
Whilst we were there the list of jobs we got through was unnatural, new fence, outside pointed and patched, chimney taken down, window taken out, whole property painted outside, including gate and garage doors, rooms cleaned, and painted. This all whilst the temperatures were around 35 plus most days.
Go back, you bet, cant wait to start on improving the inside now!!.

Am off

Right thats it, enough of this countries, taxes, stupid laws, crime, non exsistant policing could go on rant rant rant....
Back on track oh yes!! right, am off to foreign climes. yep for good. We have as I think I have mentioned previously bought a house in Bulgaria, well since last blog have bought to TWO more.
We (partner and I) have decided to opt out of this country and move lock, stock and barrel.
The planned intial moving day is Monday 14th July for about 6 weeks so that we can try and get at least one of the places inhabitable. We have bought a caravan and are planning to live in this on the land which comes with properties, they all have nearly an acre, while we are doing the work ourselves. So this involves an 1800 mile drive through several different countries, an adventure in itself!
We will be back in Sept for about a month to pack up the rest of our stuff then thats it, all over.
Am hoping to be able to pick up the language enough to get on line over there asap, but how long it takes is anyones guess.
Am signing off now probably last blog until sept when hope to post some photos, am taking a camcorder and will be recording our exploits to bore people with.
Take care you all, you know who you are, loving you lots.

Bulgaria

Hi its been a while since I had a little dabble here. Thought I would give anyone who is interested an update on life in May. Took a holiday to Bulgaria, for week the main purpose was to pick up the keys and deeds or our new house. We hired a vehicle and found it again okay and the agent met us with the details all fab stuff. Our neighbours came out, we had lots of nodding and shaking as they cant speak english and we havent learnt enough Bulagrian yet to make ourselves understood. The agent had a chat with them for us.
The property we have bought has 3/4s an acre of land, which while we are not there the neighbour is free to use and had set with beans. He also is keeping an eye on the place which is ace for us.
Our plans over the next few weeks is to drive over towing a caravan and do up our house to make it inhabitable. So stay there for a good couple of months. I think this is so exciting and just cant wait to embark on my big adventure. More soon

News

Due to the fact that I have nothing really substantial to write. I haven't for ages, everyone Else's blogs always seem so clever with lots to say.
I have just come back from Portugal, am still suffering a bad cold, though thankfully have got my voice back. The holiday was fabulous, but would of been better if I could of tasted and smelt the food and drink, which put a real downer on things.
I am probably the only person who goes on holiday and comes back having lost weight!!.
Though the weight loss is going well I have now lost 1 stone 3 pounds since Jan 08, only another 100 million to lose.
Chinese for tea, yummy !!!!
Will post a picture of the fantastic place I stayed in in next few days, when I can get to my camera from the case, and you can all judge for yourselves.

wordless

It seems that i have not blogged for ages. This is due to loads of reasons, I look at the blog and think, what the hell can I type today that anyone will be remotely interested in!.
I also have been quite busy I am now working as a builders labourer, I love every single minute of it. Using drills, saws, and playing with cement mixers.
Next week we are sound proofing a flat for a customer. We have just finished turning a garage into a usable room.
Who knows what will be next!

How brave and talented are we!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1940's, 50's, 60's 70's and 80's !!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking .
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cakes, white bread and real butter and drank pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because......
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem .
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound,no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms.......WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents .
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them! Football teams had trials and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.They actually sided with the law!
This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL! And if YOU are one of them!CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good. and while you are at it, explain it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.

This was an email I received and I liked it so much I felt I had to post it so true.

Whoever said today was supposed to be the most miserable monday, forget it.
New man and I have just been on a trip to get his newish vehicle a 2002 Landrover Defender, in two tone green. I will be expected to drive this thing, which is alot bigger than anything I have driven before. It will be like driving a tank, watch out world.

Alright now

Storm that was has blown over, all is back to normal.
Though new man is a bit grumpy at moment. I happened to mention this to him, he mumbled that the weather is getting him down.
He likes the sun and says he is always miserable in the winter. I did gently try and remind him what he should be thankful for, though I not sure this has worked.

A sleepness night

As the title suggests not a very good night's sleep. The reason a full blown row with new man over something so stupid its not worth mentioning.
The problem is now getting to speak to each other again, this is really unknown territory in our relationship. I suspect we will be okay, he has just made me a cup of tea and enquired if I need anything at the local shop, albeit begrudgingly.
Bloody men!!! AHHHHHHH

Loneliness

Stegbeetle at solid gone blogspot put a beautiful lovely song, which invoked so many feelings in me that I thought I would look at loneliness at a closer viewpoint.

I myself have over the years suffered from loneliness, well for a long as I can remember always felt outside the crowd looking in, never quite belonging. When I was younger I alleviated the feeling and got more confidence by using alcohol. As I grew older still a fair amount of alcohol, but then I met my husband, at first things were good. Unforunately he got very ill, as a result of this, communucation broke down. I felt estranged from him and last year after several years of trying I left him. Now I have met a lovely man, who has taken away my loneliness. I do fear it is only a temporary state, as all my bouts are, it eventually nearly always creeps in somewhere, though this time I will fight it with full force.

I was reading a book recently which described loneliness and its common causes though I think these links explain it fairly well. I have come to a conclusion everyone in the world must at sometime or another suffer or feel loneliness, though I admit this will affect some more than most.
Next time you feel lonely just remember, so does everyone else, therefore, you are not truly alone. Big hugs to you all.

Happy Hangovers!!

Sorry!!
I should be wishing you all a happy new year, but i suspect most you will be suffering and just about resurfing now. Jealous or course I am.
Seriously though I had about one of the best and funniest new years eves in my living memory. We (my new man and I) were invited to a murder mystery dinner. We were given our characters to play beforehand with details or suggested costume details.
I was to play a lady championship golfer named Fanny Tinnen and the other half to play Canalales a dodgy casino owner. We all had our own scripts with clues etc then we all had to say who we thought had committed the murder. All i can say was it was me......I lied though my teeth and noone guessed.
This was all done in between consuming a sumputious meal, it went down really well topped off with a few glasses wine until new year.
I would recommend this to anyone waiting for the new year to come in. Great fun!.
